7 Tips To Help You Look Perfect On Your Wedding Day

Preparing for your wedding day is an exciting time. And of course you want to look your absolute best on the day – after all you have been dreaming about this day for a long time.

Once you have found your beautiful wedding gown, start preparing to be the star of the day. Make sure you look and feel radiant, relaxed and beautiful as you walk down the aisle towards your new husband.

Take a look at these 7 tips:

1. Start A Skincare Routine

It’s never too soon to begin a good skin care routine. Even if your skin is looking ok at the moment, you might be surprised at how much better it could look. So start by buying a good, gentle, cream cleanser – one that is recommended for your skin type. And always, always remove your makeup before you go to sleep, and cleanse again in the morning.

Follow with a moisturiser that is formulated especially for your skin type, and make sure your daytime moisturiser contains an SPF.  And remember to drink plenty of water. This is one of the best ways to bring a glow to your skin.

2. Be Your Perfect Weight

Do you want to lose a few pounds before your big day? Well, once again, the earlier you start, the better. Don’t leave it until 10 days before your wedding and go on a starvation diet. Beginning early means just making a few simple changes to your diet.

Small things like eating more fresh fruit and vegetables, including plenty of protein in your meals to keep you feeling full for longer, and cutting out the sugary snacks.

3. Take Regular Exercise

Find an exercise routine that fits into your lifestyle. That way you are more likely to stick with it. A good idea is to get the support of your maid of honour and your bridesmaids and join a gym together, or maybe a Zumba class.

These classes are a fantastic way to tone up your body. They are springing up all over the place at the moment, and they are great fun. Also a good way to relieve stress.

4. Choose Wedding Hair Style

Talk to your hairdresser well in advance of your wedding about how you will wear your hair on your wedding day. Arrange a consultation – take along your tiara or veil and try out a few different looks. This gives you the opportunity to decide if you want to wear your hair up or down.

Don’t be afraid to experiment with styles you wouldn’t normally dream of  – you may be surprised! If you want to try out colours make sure you do it well in advance. And use this time to get your hair in tip-top condition.

Have regular trims to make sure you keep split ends at bay and set aside enough time each week to treat your hair with a deep conditioning treatment.

5. Get A Bright White Smile

Having lovely white teeth on your wedding day is something that is absolutely essential. You will be smiling from the minute you wake till you drift off to sleep on your wedding night and cameras will be clicking all day long.

Wedding pictures are an important part of any bride’s day, and you will look back over them often throughout your life. So, as well as seeing your stunning dress, beautiful makeup and hairstyle you’ll also want to see that you had a beautiful white smile.

So if your teeth have become discoloured, perhaps by coffee or red wine, and you’ve got enough money in your beauty budget, have them professionally whitened for your big day.

6. Perfect Hands For Your Wedding Ring

You want your hands to be perfect on your wedding day, people will be taking your hand all day to see your new ring, so start by getting your nails in shape with some regular manicures. Get your nails shaped and polished.

Keep your hands well moisturised by using a good hand cream and a sunscreen to keep the wrinkles at bay. Moisturise hands after they have been in water, and invest in some cuticle oil. Taking care of your hands during the weeks leading up to your wedding will mean they will be soft and smooth as the ring is slipped onto your finger.

7. Learn To Relax

Planning your wedding is obviously great fun, but there are always going to be moments when you wonder if it’s ever going to be the perfect day you want. With weeks and months of sorting churches, venues, guest lists, invitations, seating plans, outfits, it can all get a bit overwhelming at times.

Delegate as many of the smaller jobs as you can to family and friends. Everybody loves to help plan a wedding. And take regular breaks from your planning. Have a night out with your girlfriends from time to time, or a romantic evening with your husband-to-be – maybe a night in with a bottle of wine and a DVD you’ve been meaning to see.

Remember, although your wedding day is very important, and although you want it to be perfect, it’s just one day.  You have the rest of your lives to look forward to. That is what is important.

Don’t let other people stress you by telling you what you should and shouldn’t do. It’s not their wedding is it? …… it’s yours!!!!
