7 Great Tips To Help You Plan An Autumn Wedding

Deciding on the theme for your wedding is always exciting. So why not move away from the usual spring wedding and plump for something a little bit different.

Autumn is a very romantic time of year, full of wonderful colours and smells, so what better time of year could you choose to get married?

1. Choose A Theme

1. If you have chosen to get married in Autumn, then why not take full advantage of all that this lovely time of year has to offer – use this as a theme for your wedding.

Make use of the wonderful warm colours of the season – coppers, golds, oranges, reds – and use the beauty of nature to make your wedding a day to remember.

2. The Venue

Of course if you are having an Autumnal wedding then finding the right venue is important.
A country setting is always perfect for a Autumnal wedding.

A country estate or a house set in large grounds at the end of a tree lined avenue makes a wonderful backdrop for your photographs and is a wedding photographer’s delight.

3. Invitations And Stationery

When it comes to choosing your wedding stationery, ask your supplier to show you designs that have an Autumnal theme.

Or better still, why not make your own? It’s easy to decorate your cards with red and gold leaves and dried flowers and twigs.

As soon as your family and friends receive their invites, they will know you are planning a wedding with an Autumnal theme.

4. Wedding Attire

For a real Autumnal look why not wear a beautiful ivory or cream dress with gold or burgundy accents?

And bring it all together by matching the bridesmaid’s dresses and the groomsman’s waistcoats to your accent colour.

5. Flowers And Table Decorations

For your bridal bouquet and centre pieces make use of the rich colours of the seasons flowers. Gerbers and dahlias are great at this time of year, and they come in the wonderful orange, yellow and rust shades.

Add some brown leaves and red berries, and tie with some pretty organza ribbon, and you will have the most gorgeous Autumn bouquet.

Dress your tables with crisp leaves, berries and twigs.

6. Plan A Menu Using Seasonal Produce

Autumn is a great time to serve up something a little bit different. Why not start with a good hearty soup?

What about pumpkin and chestnut, served in hollowed out pumpkin shells? And if you are outside, what could be better than a hog-roast and jacket potatoes?

7. Wedding Cake

The wedding cake plays a very special part in every wedding. It’s one of the most photographed parts of the wedding – second only to the brides dress.

The Autumn wedding cake can be fun, decorated with lovely colourful fruits and flowers of the season. Dress your cake table with leaves and twigs and berries for extra effect.

Don’t forget this time of the year also includes Halloween, Thanksgiving, Harvest, and Columbus Day, so any of these could be incorporated into your wedding theme.

So till next time
Take care
