7 Tips To Help You Plan Your Spring Wedding

Of course, any time of the year is great to have a wedding, but for many couples, there really is only one time of year to get married. And that is Spring.

So if you think you would like a Spring wedding, take a look at these 7 tips I’ve put together which I hope will help:

1. Colours

Of course there can be no better time to get married than Springtime. Spring heralds the start of the wedding season. It’s the time of new beginnings, so a perfect time for a wedding. Take advantage of the soft pastel colours of spring and make it the theme of your wedding.

2. Invitations and Stationery

Sending out invitations that revolve around spring are a good way to tell your friends and relations you are planning a Spring wedding. So wouldn’t it be a good idea to make your own?

Decorate your cards with soft shades, spring flowers, butterflies and birds. Search the craft stores for soft satin ribbons to finish off the cards.

3. Your Wedding Dress

If you going to be a Spring bride, then choosing your wedding dress will be great fun. Spring wedding gowns can be lighter, sleeveless and more flowing.

Make sure your wedding dress says Spring by adding some hints of colour, with a sash in a soft pastel shade. Or choose a dress with delicate embroidery.

But even though winter may finally be over, unfortunately it could still be cold, so have a wrap or stole at the ready.

4. Attire For The Wedding Party

It’s always nice when bridesmaids can have a say in what dress they wear. So unless your wedding is extremely formal, allowing your bridesmaids to choose their own dresses is a nice idea.

So let them them know what colour and style you have in mind, then leave them to buy their own bridesmaid dress. This way you know they’ll feel comfortable, and they will have an outfit they can wear over and over again.

5. Flowers

When it comes to your bridal bouquet, you have so much choice at this time of year. Choose roses with tulips and gerbers, or a beautiful delicate posy of lily of the valley, white orchids and white roses.

Or, if you are lucky enough to have a garden, make up a bouquet of sweet smelling seasonal country garden blooms. using roses, daisies, sweet peas and stocks and tie it with organza ribbon.

6. Spring Menu

Spring is a great time to plan a wedding menu. If you are having a formal sit-down meal, then serve up some delicious young spring vegetables like new potatoes, sweet baby carrots and asparagus. Serve with spring lamb and mint sauce. Delicious!

For dessert serve lots of seasonal fruits and thick Jersey ice cream.

7. Wedding Cake

When you’re looking for a wedding cake for a spring wedding, there are several different options you could choose. Of course you might want to stick with the traditional tiered cake, but you could decorate it with spring flowers.

Or you may prefer something a bit lighter, such as a sponge, or you might even fancy a cup cake tower.
