How To Have A Perfect Beach Wedding

For many brides-to-be, a beach wedding has long been their dream. Could there be anything more romantic than exchanging your vows on a white sandy beach with a backdrop of the clear, turquoise waters of the ocean?  But, as with any wedding which is going to be held outdoors, there are a few things you should take into consideration before you start your planning.

Don’t Let The Weather Ruin Your Wedding

Of course the first thing to consider is the weather. If you are thinking about having your wedding in a very hot country or on a tropical island, do some research. When is their rainy season for instance? Who wants to marry in a monsoon! And what about wind? On some islands the winds can reach almost hurricane force. And of course what about the sun? It can be uncomfortably hot, especially for your more elderly guests, at certain times of the year.

But don’t let these things deter you . With some careful planning you should be able to find just the right time for your beach wedding – although do bear in mind, the weather anywhere can be very unpredictable, so there are no guarantees.

Don’t Let The Sand Ruin Your Wedding

If your ceremony is going to place on the actual sand, you should ask the staff at your beach venue if they will lay down a portable floor for you over the sand. If you don’t do this you could find yourself encountering a few problems – such as :

  • hem of your bridal gown spoiled
  • the guest’s chairs sinking in the sand
  • ladies finding it impossible to walk in their heeled shoes
  • sand too hot to stand on for those who remove their shoes

But most of the beach venue staff are used to dealing with these issues and are always ready to help.

Most couples usually decide that late afternoon is the best time to hold the wedding ceremony as the temperature is a little cooler. But you need to remember that on some tropical islands it can get dark really early.

So to make the most of the beautiful surroundings and the backdrop of the silvery sunlit ocean, you should book your photographer to start taking pictures as soon as your ceremony is over.

Then when darkness falls, enjoy the rest of your wedding celebrations – as they say – eat, drink and be merry. There really is nothing as romantic as a beach wedding – it just needs some careful planning.
